Whole-Person Faith

We believe in helping the “whole person”— physically and spiritually. Matthew 25:40

Our faith in Jesus Christ is central to who we are, and we follow his example. Jesus ministered first to people’s physical health, provided food and water, and advocated for justice and mercy, then he filled their spiritual void. In like manner, FLC seeks to equip and educate the poor and oppressed with physical assistance and spiritual truths. We serve tribal people in need as we can, of any faith or none.

The gospel message of Jesus Christ is about transformation at the heart level, having a hope for the present and future, helping others to live better, replacing destructive superstitions with knowledge and wisdom, and working to unify communities.

Theologically, FLC believes…

…in the divine, verbal and plenary inspiration of the Scriptures in the original languages, their consequent inerrancy and infallibility and as the Word of God, the supreme and final authority in faith and life. II Timothy 3:15-17

…in the Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4-6

… in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory. John 1:1-4; Matthew 1:23; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 & 4:15; Acts 1:11 & 2:22-24; I Corinthians 15:3-4

… that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:22-24

… in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly life. Galatians 5:16-18; Romans 8:9

… in salvation, the effect of regeneration by the Spirit and the Word, not by works but by grace through faith. Galatians 5:16-18

… in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and that all true believers are members of His body, the Church. Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:12, 27

… that Christ commanded the Church to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature, baptizing and teaching those who believe.  Mark 16:15, Act 2:38

… to honor Christ by maintaining a high standard of excellence in all our ministries and activities. Colossians 3:23-24
