Jung received a call June 24th, 2015, that “Yaw”, one of our current Barefoot Doctors, serving in Ga Mai area, Kachin State, and his family were caught in the cross-fire between the Burmese and Kachin rebel armies. Mortar shells were fired on their house and the church building, and both burned to the ground.
Thank God that Yaw and his family are safe and evacuated to a safe location. Yaw and his family lost everything they had including medicine and other medical supplies received during the Barefoot Doctors training. Please pray for Yaw’s family, for safety, and funds for food and other basic needs.
In addition, another FLC evangelist family in the Shan State must be evacuated because of fighting with the Burmese army and another rebel group.
Please pray for tensions to subside between the Burmese military and rebel armies, continued safety for our workers throughout the country, and open doors to minister to those affected by these conflicts.
